I have 2001 Dodge intrepid SE with 2.7l V6, driven to about 105000 kms. I have been religiously maintaining the vehicle throughout with all oils (synthetic engine oil at every 3 months), timing chain tensioner, belts, spark plugs being changed. Recently, I am hearing some weired noises (something like slow metal grinding or vibrating) when the car comes to a stop or is very slowly moving. This is not a solenoid whinning, which I think is very typical for the dodges upon gear change. The sound happens even when there is no gear change. I have tried to locate the sound by shifting to neutral and there is no sound when neutral. The sound is not loud and you can perceive it in a confined location like under a bridge or inside an underground parking garage. The dealer says it is normal and an aging process : shock: Can you please help?
