1997 Dodge Stratus -- approx 120,000 miles

The rear brakes are drum brakes, and the cylinder went bad on the rear driver wheel -- Leaked all over the floor. We were able to creep to a mechanic who told us what the problem was, but we weren't ready to pay $400 for all he wanted to do. So, I replaced both rear wheel cylinders and shoes. The rear passenger side was a snap -- bled the cylinder with no problem. However, I was unable to get any fluid to bleed the driver rear cylinder. I even took off the brake line, and it is dry when the brake is pumped. We have to push the pedal all the way to the floorboard to get the car to stop, still. (That was the original problem.) Any ideas on how to get the brake line pumping fluid again?

Thanks!
