Heater problem
1998 Dodge Intrepid 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 156000 miles

When I turn on the heater, it blows hot for a few seconds then blows cold. I turn it off - turn it on again, blows hot for a few seconds - then cold.

Hi: I need you to check something. With the engine running and at operating temp, turn the heater on full. Next, locate the two heater hoses running to the firewall (Under the hood). There is an inlet hose and an outlet hose. If the heater is on, both hoses should be hot. Of course the inlet will be slightly hotter. Keep in mind to be careful. The hoses will be very hot.

Let me know what you find.

Joe
