Hi:
If you follow the upper radiator hose back to the engine, it will end at the thermostat housing. The t-stat is under the housing.

Where the lower hose attaches to the engine. You need to lift and support the car, remove the skid pan and you will be able to see it. Great design huh? If you can find a shop to do it at a reasonable price, I would do it

Hi:
Follow the upper radiator hose back the the engine. It will end at the t-stat housing. The t-stat is in the housing and can be easily replaced by removing the housing. If you need help, let me know.

Hi:
First drain the coolant from the radiator or you'll have a mess. Next, remove the housing and the t-stat will be under it. Before replacing the new one, pay special attention as to the direction the old one is sitting in. After removing everything, make sure to remove the old gasket from both the housing and the intake. Make sure the surfaces are clean and tight before replacing everything. Just reverse the sequence.

If you run into trouble or have other questions, let me know.

Joe

I have had a slight leak in my cooling system coming from whatever this picture is of. I thought it was the thermostat housing, I bought a new thermostat, went to unbolt this and tried loosening the bleed valve. Well, when applying torque to this bleed valve, the cover popped off. There is no fasteners, so, do I just "JB Weld" it back in place or do I need to buy a replacement (and if so... what is "it" called?) And, since this doesn't house the thermostat... where do I find it?

Rasmataz,

Thank you for directing me to the thermostat. Any chance you could tell me what it was that I broke (in the picture) or, if I can just use JB Weld (or some other form of epoxy) to stick that cover back on?

Thank you
