Transmission problem
1994 Dodge Dakota 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 207k miles

i have a 94 dakota v6 4wd overdrive that was driven by the previous owner with no oil when I got it it was stuck in drive. I found another trans for it that had 60k miles on it but the neglected to tell me that it was actually for a 95 v8 dakota untill I went to pick it up so my uncle, who is a diesel mechanic, and I looked it over now the only visible difference was the shift linkage needed to be swaped from the old to the new one but now various bolts aren't matching up. So my question is can I buy parts such as; starter dust plate. For the v8 and put them on v6 or should I just go back and demand my money and the old tans back and just get it rebuilt.

I would recommend getting a direct fit part. These problems are only the start. There will be other things that won't work too.
