I have a 1986 Dodge Ramcharger Royal SE 4x4. I think its got some ungodly amount of miles on her. I thought it had a stock 318-5.2L but the dealer pulled the VIN and said no she has a 360- 5.9L! SO I think its got a 5.9L!
Anywho as I drive say 5 mph I try to shift from 2h to 4h, after just a brief moment the vehicle slows to almost a stop, there a loud grinding noise that is coming from somewhere either transfer case or front pumpkin and the vehicle slips out of 4h and I have to put it into 2h. It will shift into 4L and stay there. In process of this the 4wheel engaugement light does come on and then go out when slipping out of 4h. Can you help.
