Blower motor not working

My front AC blower does not work. I removed it and applied 12v power directly to it and it worked fine. The rear blower does operate correctly. I did a little online research and was advised to change the resistor (part# 4885583AC). Superceeded by: (68029175AA $14.49 - Hvac - Controls - Blower motor - Resistor) Any suggestions?

Hello,

This can be the blower motor relay or the speed controller. Here is a guide to help you test the relay and a wiring diagram to show you how it works and the location of the blower motor and relay as well.

I said that I applied direct power to the blower motor and it worked. Meaning. I pulled the blower out and connected 12v battery power directly to the connections on the motor. When the blower motor is installed in the vehicle I do not get a response from any of the different fan speed settings on the A/C climate control panel.

I read and understood your post. You hot wired the motor. I want to know if power is getting to the motor.
Was the fuse replaced?

These are all causes for the motor to not operate:

Front control module (FCM) DTC(S) present
IPM fuse #10
Fused front blower motor relay output circuit shorted to ground
Front blower motor resistor block shorted to ground
Front blower motor resistor block shorted to ground
Blower motor
Blower motor
A/C - heater control module
Ground circuit open
Blower motor high driver circuit open
Front blower motor resistor block open
Front blower motor resistor block open
PDC-open circuit
PDC-open circuit
Front blower motor relay
PDC-open circuit
Fused front blower motor relay output circuit open

This particular chysler product does not have the power separate for high speed, that was my mistake.

After looking at this site I replaced the resistor to the blower motor and now it is installed and the blower is working fine.

The blower stoped working I checked the fuses and relays and they are fine. I replaced the resister and itstill did not work I check and there is power to the blower. I tried to remove the cover and there are four screws which I removed but the cover will not come off. Is there one in the back you can't see or what else needs to be done to remove it. Also do you have any other ideas of what could be wrong with it other than the blower. Thanks for your help.

Hi:
If you replaced the resister and you're getting power to the motor, it has to be bad.

If I recall, there are 6 bolts holding it on. If you tap on it with a rubber mallet will it pop loose?

That will be the first thing I check. My wife called on her way to work today. I haven't been able to check it yet. I dont think it works on any speed. If the fuses are good, what else cshould I look for?

It could be a relay, resister, the blower motor, a bad switch, wiring. Let me know and we'll work from there.

My blower for the heater won't work. I have digital heater in this car. The heat selection light up but nothing comes out.

1st step is to check fuses and fan relay
is you had snow and ice check if any was build up at the blower motor

I have checed all the fuses. The digital readout on the heater work, I just can't get a response from the blower.

Locate the blower motor and remove electric connector
place blower switch at high and check at the connector for power and ground and if all OK remove and replace the blower motor if not let me know witch is missing

The Front heater blower on my 05 Caravan quit
working the other day. After checking the fuse
and the relay at the IPM box I figured that the motor was shot. The rear blower works fine.
I replaced the blower motor and it will not operate.
What else do I need to do to solve this problem?

Place the switch at high
check at the blower motor wiring connector for power and for ground
if ground is missing remove, check and replace blower motor speed resister
if no power check fuses and switch relays again
check ignition switch
I would suspect resister

my front blower stopped working and we switched the controll panel and that wasnt the problem, we think it might be a fuse can someone tell me if there is more than one fuse panel I do not have an owners manual I thanx!

Use a test light check all fuses
rcheck relay mark it and switch it with a similar one
also check blower motor
check for power and ground at the motor connector

2005 Dodge Grand Caravan
Front blower fan doesn't work on any setting. Rear blower and a/c works fine. I believe a/c in front is ok too, since cold air will trickle out when I'm driving at faster speeds.
If, as I believe, the problem is with the blower, what do I check and how do I check it to confirm? How do I replace the resistor and/or the motor?
