Engine cranks good, new battery. But will not start. Checked fuel pressure. Good 55 psi. Checked distributor cap and rotor. Fairly new cap and rotor, looks good. Checked spark at coil, good spark. Checked spark at number one plug. Has spark not very bright. Installed new crank sensor. Still just cranks and will not start. Any suggestions would be great. Thank you

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Since the fuel pressure is good and you have spark, try this. See if the engine will start for a couple seconds using starting fluid. If it does, then we have to assume there is an issue with the injectors. If it still does not start, check the spark again. It should be a hot blue snapping spark. If it is white or orange, it may be too weak to burn the fuel.

Also, if you have not already, you should scan the computer to see if there are any trouble codes stored. Here is a quick video showing how that is done:

Here are a couple links that may be helpful. The first one discusses the most common reasons why an engine will not start. The second discusses how to check fuel injection.

Let me know what happens or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe
