When my van is idling it makes a tweetying like sound it is driving me crazy. We have replaced the serp belt, water pump and power steering. Sometimes I believe it has something to with the air conditioner it is louder when it is on.

Hi:

It sounds like the belt is making the noise. A really easy to check it is to:

start the van
open the hood
with the engine running and tweeting, pour a small amount of water on the belts. Be prepared because it will splash water toward you.

If the sound stops, the belts are dry or the automatic tensionier is weak. Keep in mind that the sound will come back when the water dries.
