Location of the speed sensor

Odometer works but speed indicator does not. Have a replacement part for the output speed sensor. Where is it located?

There are two output speed sensors one is for the transmission and the other is for the computer. Here are both locations. (below)

It is located on the transmision.

Try to find it. If you cant find it get back to me on here or my email and I can find a diagram for it or show you a picture of the vss.

First do you kn ow what your looking for? have you went to a part store or looked online for a vss to see what to look for?

second i will assume you have the LX model so this information will be for a lx, you can post back what you have so i can find a proper one but all three should be very similar.

a 2.4l the sensor is located on the left rear of the engine. diagram below.

3.0l is on the left rear of the engine, see diagram bellow.

WHERE IS THE VEHICLE SPEED SENOR LOCATED? I BELIEVE THIS IS WHATS WRONG WITH MY VAN, BUT I CANT FIND THE VSS TO REPLACE IT. DOES MY VAN HAVE A VSS? WHERE IS IT? DO U HAVE A DIAGRAM TO LEAD ME TO IT. THANKS

This vehicle doesnt make a v-8, but that doesnt matter. The vehicle speed sensor is located on the transmission, it has a harness plugged to it

I got same problem and no one don't know WHERE is the VSS in the transmission. Every one said is in the transmission, but where? I found the in and out sensor solenoid and I do not found the vehicle speed sensor. Is located on transmission and has a harness plugged to it. OK? WHERE am found that? Close to What?

im trying to locate the current vehicle speed sensor and transmission speed sensor. I have a 3 speed. I have a manual from autozone, but it only shows 4 speed

If never heard of a three speed in a 1997. Is it possible someonw may have replaced the transmission with one from a different year?
