Engine Cooling problem
2001 Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 120000 miles

I can see the coolant boiling in the reservoir. It begins to steam out the opening in the top. When the fans kick on this eases up but I can still see some boiling. During all of this the temp gauge shows normal. I guess it boiled off enough to lower the coolant level the other day and overheated while my son was driving it. I changed the coolant temp sensor at the advice of someone at a parts house, but no change. I've watched the level as it comes up to temp and it appears the thermostat is opening (level drops). Again the gauge is reading normal which is confusing.

To find out exactly what's going on-have it block and pressure tested
