1989 Chevrolet S-10 with 130,000 miles. While I am driving my truck on occasions it will not idle all the way down while it should be and it jerks while I am driving it sometimes even tho I am in the right gear.

Well the fuel filter may be the problem that is causeing the jerking part. Though dont think that would cause high idleing. Or could be the PCV valve causeing some of this or both. Both pretty cheap parts and pvc valve can be change in seconds. But filter well take longer.

Good luck and hope its as simple as that.
