My 1994 Chrysler New Yorker's AC was working fine and then when I went to start it I had a whining noise and black smoke from under the hood. I looked and the belt was running over the AC pulley and it was not turning. The belt broke off. So the next day I went out and found that the compressor turns eaily by hand. I tapped on the pulley with a wrench and got it to turn again.
My question is can I put a new belt on and be good or do I need to replace the pulley or cluthch? Can it be done? Is it hard?
