Phase 1. Sounds like a vacuum hose being plugged up - if you can imagine you hear a sucking sound and then the sound of it being plugged up by putting your finger over it. Also during this phase, the engine sounds like it simply cuts out. This process lasts about 1/2 second.
Phase 2. The engine revvs up normally.
What I would expect to happen is simply phase 2 without phase 1.
My question is what could that phase 1 process be? Is that simply the sound of the engine cutting out momentarily, or does this convey information about the part that is malfunctioning - causing the car to hesitate when I accelerate from idle?
