Engine Mechanical problem
1984 Chevy Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 35000 miles

I have a G30 chassis with a 350 V8 for my 1984 Coachmen motorhome. The passenger floor and side of doghouse engine cover (especially the floor) get extremely hot - you can literally burn yourself and the carpet, padding and rubber mat underneath are dried out and flaky only in that area. Just on the inside of this area is the end of the exhaust manifold which has a slight bend downward and then the pipe connects - the pipe then takes a bend down and across to join the pipe from the drivers side to single muffler and exhaust. There don't appear to be any leaks in the manifold or pipe connection. I recently got the motorhome from my parents but don't really know how long this has been like this. I am pretty sure the exhaust manifold on the passenger side was replaced at some point. The engine runs great.
