Engine Performance problem
1992 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

Engine stalls when coming to a stop or idling. Have to feather the gas when braking to avoid the truck to stall. When it stalls it sometimes takes a long time before it starts. I looked at the fuel injectors and it didnot seem like it was getting enough gas? Any advice?

Is it setting a check engine light? do you have access to a scan tool? Idle air control may be sticking or a throttle position sensor maybe reading wrong. This guide can help

Check and see if you have any vacuum leaks, if that is ok, then I would suggest having the pcm scanned and see if the sensors are in range.

1992 Chevy Silverado 2500 with 350 engine stalls when put into a selected gear. In park or neutral the engine idles fine. What could be the problem?

No engine light warning. Changed the idle sensor and the engine worked for a couple minutes when put into a selected gear, but then it went back to its old habits.

No I did not check vacuum leaks. I would have to figure that out.

1992 chevy S10 just put a new battery in it, now it starts but wont keep running. Any ideas? Just bought it for my son 2 days ago. Ran FINE before the battery replace.

It needs to relearn its target idle speed thru the idle air control valve-disconnecting battery causes the computer to lose its programmed memories-

Any time the battery is disconnected, the programmed position of the IAC valve pintle is lost, and replaced with a "default" value. To return the IAC valve pintle to the correct position, perform the following procedure:
NOTE:This procedure, called the "quick-learn" Idle Learn procedure, utilized the capabilities of the Tech 1 "Scan" tool. For the procedure to work properly, the vehicle transaxle must be in Park or Neutral.

Restore battery power and place transaxle in Park or Neutral. Connect Tech 1, "Scan" tool. Select "IAC" System, " then select "Idle Learn" in the "Misc. Test" mode.
Proceed with idle learn as directed.
This procedure allows the ECM memory to be updated with the correct pintle position for the vehicle, and provide a stable idle speed.

My truck will bog down and die when I shift from park to drive or to reverse. When I pull up to a stop sign or when I'm making a turn, it will bog down and turn off. Should I check the timing on it? And/or, change the fuel filter? Or have the fuel pump checked? Otherwise it still runs good on the road. Not misfiring or anything else.I just recently installed a new cap and rotor checked my wiring, it's all correct. NEEDS HELP.

I would start with checking fuel pump pressure. Here are the directions as to how. You will need a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will lend or rent them to you.

My husband replaced his radiator on his truck last night and after replacing the hoses and putting coolant the radiator and holding tank, it started up and ran fine. We drove it after it ran for 10 minutes, when about a mile down the road, his check gauges light came on and his oil pressure dropped to zero. We stopped at the gas station and found his truck leaking oil from one of the hoses attached to the radiator meant to cool the oil. So we drove it back home (less than one mile away) and it died just before our driveway. We added oil, thinking it would start, but no dice. It tries does try to turn over, which doesn't happen if the engine is seized (we had another vehicle blow a gasket a long time ago and it wouldn't even try to crank). Let me know if you need more info. I just need to know if our truck is done or can be saved.

This is kind of a hard one as some wil be ok others won't let it cool down make sure oil is full and see if it will turn over it may. It may take overnight to cool down enough though. If it turns over and you have pressure you are good. If pressure shows low or you hear clacking or a lot of ticking like from lifters then the engine will need to be rebuilt or truck junked whatever you choose.
