1997 Chevy CAV. DOME LITE STAYS ON

The dome lite on my cavalier it still staying on, wont shut off. I was told to look for screws that should be holding the door switches in place and to loosen them. Well I looked and looked, there are no screws there. The door swithes are incased in plastic thought with like a little plastic ring around them thats all thats there. Do they somehow pull out?

Did u turn the light down on the switch beside the steering wheel? To the left of it.
