2003 Chevy Suburban V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 96,000 miles
I had to have the catalytic converter replaced last month. I noticed today that my speedometer is not working correctly. I was in a school zone doing what everyone else was doing, looked down at the speedometer and it said 70 mph. When I stopped at the light it said 50mph. At regular speed, it goes to 120mph. My first question is, while checking all the electrical readouts for the converter, could the mechanics have done something to the speedometer guage? I'm asking that to see if that is where I need to take it to have it repaired, OR if not, what could the problem be and what can I say to the mechanics so they will think I know what I'm talking about and not overcharge me just because they can and me not know any different. I am recently divorced and need to take care of this myself.
have the same problem?
