Transmission problem
2004 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 76000 miles

I noticed the other day my speedometer needle does not return to 0. It starts a 35 and as I speed up it will go to 120 while I am only going about 65 or so. There are no fault codes in the computer nor is there a check engine light on. No matter how long the truck is off it acts this way

Disconnect the electrical connector speedometer sensor at the output shaft on the transmission. Check to see if the speedometer guage drops to zero. If not then you need to check the slosh panel circuit board for proper voltage (on the back of the instrument panel). (Should be 12 V)
