2003 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 75000 miles

The battery is fully charged, but the truck will not start. The cable to the negative battery post is real hot. Could it be a ground wire or starter?

Did you meant it cranks over and will not start or just won't crank at all/nothing.

Negative cable getting hot could be an internal short in the starter solenoid.

It will not start/crank, nothing. IF it is a starter solenoid, is that a difficult repair? Can that be purchased/installed rebuilt or only new? Can it be purchased at and Autozone or Advanced Auto?
Thank you!

Don't be throwing parts to it-get a helper to hold key at start position while you look for power on the purple wire on the starter solenoid -let me know if you have it

Thank you. I will let you know. My neighbor is going to help me when he gets home from work - about 4pm today.
Also, where is the starter solenoid located on the Chevorlet Silverado 2003?
Again, THANK YOU!

The solenoid is attached to the starter where the wires are hooked up
