Electrical problem
2003 Chevy Silverado V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 80800 miles

my battery drains while truck is shut off, I have to jump start it every day, I have a maintenance free battery.
and after I get it started my dashboard is informing me that battery is not charging my lights are dim, then in a split second lights are bright battery starts charging and the process repeats it self everyday.

i waqs told to start the truck and then disconnect both positive and negative from the battery and if the truck shuts off then it was my alternator and if it did not shut off then it was my battery.

so I ran the test and the truck did not shut off.

i would like a more solid answer.

Thanks Darthraider

Get the alternator and battery load tested. Sounds as though the voltage regulator is not controlling the alternator field windings therefore its not producing the correct output. Battery drain overnite could be a short circuit within the electrical system.
