2000 Chevy Silverado what spark plug to use

Electrical problem
2000 Chevy Silverado V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 164000 miles

I have a 2000 Chev Silverado with 5.3L engine. After 164,000 miles I am changing spark plugs. The manual says to use AC Delco 41-952 plugs. These are not available. When I pulled a plug out to see what they were to my surprise they were Denso PTJ16R15 double platinum, with a.060 gap. I called my local Chevy dealer and their book shows AC Delco # 41-985 Iridium plug with a set gap of.040. As replacement. My question is if I use the Iridium plug with a.040 gap will this damge my engine. The engine diagram (under hood) also shows a plug gap of.060. Should I go with the Iridium or try to find the original Denso plug (or something similar) to replace the old plugs with. I contacted the Chevrolet Service manager and he suggested I stay with the Platinum plugs with a gap of.060. What should I do now?

Do you
have the same problem?
