I have a 99 Chevy s-10 truck with a v-6 vortex engine and right around 74,000 miles. Last week my check engine light came on and stayed on solid when I was driving on the highway. I took my truck to the mechanic and they did a diagnostic test and said it came up with the code "transmission slip". They also said this happened when I was going 76 mph and was at 2400 rpms. I didn't feel anything different and the truck drove fine for me. The mechanic reset the light and said it was probably just a computer malfunction. This morning as I reached to 75 mph's on the way to work the same thing happened again. Everything seems to be ok and I don't want to take it to a transmission specialist if I don't have to. Please help
have the same problem?
