95 Monte Carlo cruise control question

Just had the transmission changed on the car, now when going down the highway the cruise control kicks out on its own, asked the garage that changed the transmission and they state that they changed the modulator valvue, however there is also a sensor that is right above that M.V. Question what is causing the cruise to kick out and what is that senor for.

Also when it kicks out of crise it also comes out of overdrive, plus it will blow the cruise control fuse.
