The car is a 2001 chevy monte carlo. It is giving me trouble when taking off or when climbing a hill. I took it to a local shop and had the fuel pressure checked to see if it was the fuel pump or filter, and it checked out ok. The mechanic mentioned the catylitic converter being stoped up and that he would put on a new a new factory converter for $450.00 and so I told him that I didn't think that that was going to happen.( I worked at O'Reilly auto for a few months so I new that was to expensive.) I then decided to have a local muffler shop do the temp test to check the cat. He said that there wasn't anything wrong with it. Since then I have talked to another mechanic and looked online and have heard mention of a map sensor and something about the pcm. From here I am unsure what the actual problem is, so any help would be greatly apreciated. This is my first time with the whole forum thing so I have high hopes. I apologize for the lenght but I tried to offer as much info as possible to allow the best diagnosis. Thanks
