Overview. About 6 weeks ago my car would not start. A mechanic came to look at it and said it was the theft system. The chip in the ignition had gone bad. $300 for the new switch/chip.
Yesterday my car would not start again. Theft light was blinking after the key was out of the ignition. Spoke with a gentlemen from a dealer last night and he told me to turn the ignition to on and keep it that way for 10 minutes. I did. And the car now starts and the theft light does not come on, but as soon as the car starts, it dies.
I hooked it up to another car to make the battery had enough juice and it did. Still the same problem.

Help.
