1969 Chevy Malibu tire change

1969 Chevy Malibu V8 Automatic 30,000 miles

When I purchased car, no jack so I bought an all purpose jack. First time to change a tire and need to know where to place the jack - is there a specific place or notch I need to look for and any other tips to help me change the tire without killing myself or having the car fall or slip while I am working on it? No owners manual with the car when purchased either, obviously!

I walways jack them up on the axles on a nice flat spot, if nothign is available on the back I put them on the leaf springs mount, and on the front there should be a square piece of metal under the cab near the tires near where the driver side or passanger side floor.

You may have a picture in the engine compartment.
