The blower works but no heat. I can hear a water in the dash if I rock the car or go over a bump. I replaced the water pump 6 monthes ago.

You have air in the cooling system.remove a heater hose and fill the system,then reconnect the heater hose.this should purge the air from the system.

Do you hear the blower motor running?-If not try direct power to the motor-if it works-find the blower motor resistor and test it.

The blower is working, it is blowing out cold air for both the heat and A/C.

Replace the thermostat and also check heater hose/heater core for clogging

When I have the heat on it's only hot on drivers side and cold on passenger side. During the summer if I had the air on it would blow cold air on driver side and hot air out on passenger side. Any ideas what is causing this?

Pull your havc fues and put it back in after 30 secs. Turn the key on and let it rest the actuator positions. See if that works

It could be one of the following:

*Thermostat stuck open
*clogged heater core
*defective control valve
*low coolant
*problem w/ actuator

It could also be a vacuum leak.

The heater for the drivers seat stopped working sometime during the summer.
Passenger side works fine. Both worked last spring.
I have 12 volts to the switch and the switchis ok.

My car had been running for approximately 15 mins and was producing heat. There was a strange smell and the blower started blowing cool air. The next day it was blowing warm air but not hot air still with a strange smell. What can it be?

Hi:
It sounds like a problem with the heater core. If may be leaking coolant and that is what you smell. Check the carpet on the passanger side to see if it is at all wet.

Let me know what you find.

When I go to put air on it only blows cold on drivers side and blows hot on the passenger side. It takes a few days then it starts working properly. Then reverse when I turn heat on it blows hot on driver side and cold on passenger side. After a few days it starts working properly. Any ideas what would cause this?

One of the "blend doors" in the heater control module is malfunctioning.

Depending on if you have a vacuum or electronically controlled blend door will determine the repair procedure. If you are handy with a wrench, then purchase a subscription from "All Data" or "Mitchell". They only cost $25.00.

This will give you all of the repair data you need. And it will also come in handy when you encounter other problems, which all vehicles do eventually.

Procedure below and picture attached. You can get these at any parts store.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the right side instrument panel (IP) insulator.
2. Remove the IP compartment.

3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the right air temperature actuator.

5. Remove the right air temperature actuator.

I just noticed today that we could not get any hot air even though the water temperature was quite hot. We live in Wisconsin and the outside temperature was around 20 degrees. We have owned the car for 8 years and this is the first time this has happened.
