Engine Cooling problem
2002 Chevy Impala 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 300000 miles

my car has been overheating takes about 5 minutes and its hot also my heat blows out cold I have been told it could be the heater core or a head gasket. The oil isnt mixed with cooliant its not smoking. Any suggetions. Is the engine just plan tired?

Check the coolant level. If it's low, the vehicle will overheat. If your coolant is low, start checking for leaks. The most common leaks are the water pump and the intake manifold gaskets.
