I have a 2008 chevy equinox its displaying engine hot ac off then the check engine light came on orange help

The engine is overheating. Since the Check Engine light turned on, the Engine Computer detected a problem and set a diagnostic fault code in memory. That problem is likely related to the overheating. Having it read is the place to start. Many auto parts stores will do that for you for free. The codes will get you to the circuit or system that needs further diagnosis.
