Engine Cooling problem
1996 Chevy Corsica Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My wife's Corsica's low coolant light came on yesterday. I filled the overflow reservoir with antifreeze to the correct level and she left for work. The temperature guage reads normal, well within the normal operating temperature but the low coolant light has not gone out. When she returned home I checked the coolant level after letting everything cool down and it is right at the level I topped it off at. She is afraid to drive the car because she thinks something else may be wrong. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
