Ignition key

1998 cavalier Z24. Suddenly the key stopped turning to the lock position. You can start the car without the key now. Also all the lights stay on on the dash because the key is stuck in the "on" position. I'm leaning to purchasing the lock cylinder with keys. Could there be a different problem?

You're on the right track, just make sure you install it properly-I don't see any other problem
