Hello, there is no transmission dipstick like the good old days. They have a plug on the side you remove then start the car then fill with fluid until it runs out. Here is a diagrams of the location below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

There is no dipstick for the transmission fluid on newer model Cavaliers.

Your vehicle does not have a transmission dipstick.

There is a small bolt/plug in the transmission above the pan that needs to be removed for checking fluid level. The fluid will run out if it's overfilled. The transmission needs to be at room temperature or a little warmer to check the level.

Transmission problem

worked on half shaft and lost a little fluid. How do you top off fluid level and where is a oil level sight plug?

You check it by removing the 11 mm plug on the right side of the transmission by the right axle shaft. You fill it at the top of the transmission. You will see the big cap. What I do is start the vehicle then fill the trans mission until the fluid starts to run out of the hole where the 11 mm plug was at. When it starts to run out, reinstall the plug
