Engine Performance problem
2000 Chevy Cavalier 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I recently had to replace my fuel pump. At the time at half a tank I would have around 250 miles on the car, and would get between 29-31mpg.

after it was replaced I noticed that I run out of gas quicker. I now have around 150 miles at half a tank and get around 26mpg.

my first thought was that I must have a fuel leak. But when I checked under my car I found no drips, no puddles. I then tried reving my engine a bit to see if maybe it leaks when i'm driving, but again I didn't see a leak anywhere.

any clue what the problem is?

Check fuel pressure at the fuel rail with a mechanical gauge, high fuel pressure will cause mileage to go south.
