I turn the key on and only the lights and radio come on. The engine wont turn over.

There is plenty of power in the battery, since I can cross the starter wires and it will start.

So to start the car I can leave the key on and cross the starter wires.

When I leave the car in the garage, it starts fine.

Any part need changing?

Roger

Hello, did you try cranking in neutral, when the problem occurs? Also check the purple wire at the S terminal at the starter solenoid, with the key in the crank position. It should be hot.

Can you tell if there is a load on the starter circuit, maybe the lites dim a little, the voltage across the battery posts drop a couple of volts, when trying to crank? Use a DMM.
