My 1994 chevy cavalier, didnt start yesterday. Wasnt getting no gas, I pulled out the fuelpump, from gas tank, and tested it it made anoise, seemed to be working, but when I put it back into the gastank, it had no noise and didnt work. My question is why did it seem to be working out of the tank nand not in it my car didnt start. Do you think, maybe I need a new fuelpump. Thankyou.

A no load test isn't worth much. I've done the same thing, removed a faulty fuel pump, use jumper wires from battery for voltage and ground, that little pump threw gas all over me, when I took the pump apart, this pump had brushes, they were wore down to almost nothing.

In the vehicle, if you have good votage and ground at the pump and no pump action, suspect the pump.
