Pull fuel pressure regulator vacuum line, if gas is present, the FPR had a ruptured diaphram and needs to be replaced.
Another possibility is a leaking injector. Hook up mechanical fuel pressure gauge to fuel rail test port, turn ign. "ON", then off, fuel pressure should hold at 40psi or so, for 2-3 minutes at least. If it goes down quickly, then injector or FPR as mentioned above.
