I live in Wisconsin. I took my blazer into the shop at the beginning of May to have a new fuel pump put in. At which time wouldn't start after that. I had a new ignition coil put right along with new wires and mapf sensor and temp air control sensor put in also. Brought vehicle home ran 2 days and died. Took back to shop 2 different times with the same situation. This last time we had a new fuel pump put in again.(Different one) Again drove for 2 days and died again. Have any ideas why I would be burning fuel pumps this quick?

When the pumps were replaced did the shop also replace the connector pigtail? If not low voltage to the pump may be causing problems. It is a common problem and most of the pumps come with the new connectors.

It could also be a bad regulator that is failing.

What does the fuel pressure read with the key on engine off? How about with the engine running? When you shut off the engine what does the fuel pressure do?

I'm guessing the pig tail was replaced. The mechanic I had claimed he replaced a lot of wiring.

As far as the pressure with the key off, I'm not sure. When it idled it was at 45 psi. And when it was starting it dropped to 25 psi. Didn't say what happened when he shut it off either.

I had another mechanic look at it. And he ended up changing out the wiring harness. Seems to help so far.

45 PSI is WAY low. You should see 55-65 key on engine off and at least 55-56 running PSI. I would have them test for a faulty regulator. Sounds like either the regulator is bad or you have a fuel leak in the manifold. What mileage have you been getting?

Check fuel pressure again with a gauge auto parts rent it. If it stays below 60 replace the pump and check for a bad regulator. Start car with gauge on, open throttle quickly it should go up to 66 psi if not replace pump and filter. Check vacuum at idle at manifold if 15" or below suspect clogged exhaust.

Yes will fit like a glove GMC Jimmy and Chevrolet Blazer are identical part wise Chevrolet makes GMC, just different make and model. And only being a year difference you will not have any problems.
