I have a 1997 Seville SLS 4.6L. 152,000k
When I drive the car for a short time time the COOLANT TEMP light comes on and says idle engine, Before you can idle it is back down to normal operating temp and the light is off(no code). When it gets hot the car surges and will not hold cruise on. The coolant temp sensor is new and the system was just flushed. It also has a newTHermostat. No leaks and overall the car runs fine, except for some rough shifting.
Can a transmission problem make the car run hot? Or cause the temp to surge up and down?
Can the water pump be broken without leaking?
Can you also recommend a aftermarket remote stater that will open the doors and trunk?
