I have been following your troubles. I remember a recall or bull for seville and eldos. Cant remember
how many 100000s cars we did. The complaint was
the power kinda was doing strange things. We were replaceing the power supply location is at lower dash in the front of console we enjoy your feedback

What is the name of that power supply-part#, so I can look up the bulletin and/or buy a new PS-part. Haven't been to the dealer in a long time. Will they cover a 1998 car?

Is there an easy test with a multimeter, to check if the power-supply is the part causing the trouble here?

Is the PS easily accessible, what parts of the dashboard-console have to be removed to get at it?

Are you saying that it probably is not a module and that it's likely the PS that's causing all of this erratic electrical problems. Or that it could easily be either the PS, a faulty module, ground, etc.?

Thanks,
tdc

I think someone got there wires crossed when they walked into our post. There is no bulletin that exists on your car for the symptoms, and definately no power supply. I think that we possibly were thinking of eldos and sevilles 8-10 years older than yours. May have transposed numbers 98/89. There was a central power supply in early VF technology times, and it was in the front of the center console. It was present in(but not limited to)Eldos, Sevilles, Oldsmobile Toronados, Trofeos, and perhaps Buick Riviera, of about late 80's to early 90's vintage.
