My engine (73K mi) developed a surge problem last week. It will idle around 950rpm in park. When placed in gear, and the cars starts to roll, the rpms will climb to around 2K rpm without touching the acclerator pedal. I used fuel injector cleaner (gas tank) prior to this event. Not sure if it is relevent. I appear to be receiving proper voltage, 5VDC to MAP and TPS. ECM was replaced recently and BCM seems to be operating correctly. No apparent vacuum leaks. There is no check engine light and no codes. Could other sensors cause this issue?
