1989 Cad eldorado v8 4.5 engine automatic. 180,000 miles. Just bought this car and it runs great. Yesterday after a short drive it would not restart. When key turned to start pos nothing no sound no click. Car has brand new battery 2 days old. Several checks show battery to be holding charge, charging system working. It only will not crank after engine has reached 216 degrees. Anything below that car cranks and starts fine. 217 or above the car will not even crank. Tried to read trouble codes by jumping the two terminals at connector per book and the check engine light does not flash. It check eng lite does come on foe a sec when key is turn on then goes off. A short trip down town and the car is hot enough not to restart at the store. Please help. Any ideas at all?

Is it overheating? If not have a check done on the starter. The heat shield is probably disintegrated by now!
