I had the battery checked on my car and it is fine. So I changed out the spark plugs and wires. But it still takes it's time to start, it will turn over but hesitate to start. I'm thinking it may be the alternator, but im not sure. What could it be besides the alternator?

Does cranking speed seem normal? If it takes some crank time before it starts, it could have a fuel pump that is slow to build pressure, or a leaking fuel pressure regulator diaphragm. If you know where the regulator is, disconnect the vacuum hose and check for raw fuel. What happens is twofold, raw fuel leaks into the intake forced by rail pressure, and the pressure lost needs to rebuild during cranking.
