Engine Cooling problem
1999 Buick Regal V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 115000 miles
Six months ago engine was not coming up to operating temp all the way causing poor gas milage. I replaced thermostat this fixed the milage problem. Now the car is over heating in 10 to 15 minutes from a cold start and will red line if car is not turned off in short order. I pulled the thermostat and checked in boiling water opens fine. I have tried running car with no thermostat same over heating problem. Top radiator hose has pressure when car warms up, no collant leaks and when I remove the radiator cap when the engine temp gauge reads above normal coolant iin radiator is warm not hot when engine is running and flow seems low. This is with the thermostat removed. The coolant level in the radiator is full to the top of the radiator cap. When the engine temp gauge gets over half way the electric radiator fans come on. When I turn on the heater it blows warm but not hot air when the engine is at normal or above normal temp range. Serpentine belt is on and water pump pulley is turning and no leaks from water pump weap hole. Engine over heated once in january when my daughter was driving it in a snow storm. Then no problems for 2 months now it over heats every time. No other over heating problems before or temp running above the normal range. Any and all recomendations on what to do would be greatly appreciated.
