I have a 2000 323 bmw. My car wont turn over. The mechanic stated it was the crank sensor. He installed a new one but stated that once installed it showed up dead. He then came back today and stated that it might be the key that causing the anti theft system to think the car is being stolen. Is this possible. He stated that I just needed to try and start it with the valet key.

Anti-theft will bring things to a halt. Worth a try.
