I keep finding these on my floorboard on the driver's side and I don't know where they are coming from. Could it be from the steering column?

Huh? There are hundreds of black plastic pellets on the floorboard of my 1996 Honda Civic. Could they be coming from the steering column or tumblers for the key?

The tumblers for the key are metal not plastic just pull a panel off under where they are and look we can't see them. Some stuff you just have to look yourself.
