BATTERY WON'T HOLD A CHARGE

When I start my car, it turns over slowly and takes awhile for it to actually start. I got a jump from a friend a couple of days ago, but the battery seems to drain after the car's been off, even just for an hour. I'd glance at the stereo, and it sometimes resets as though the battery's been disconnected. This morning when I went to start the car, the gauges lit up as they normally do, then a few seconds after I got the car started, the needles dropped to the left as though the car was turned off, then jumped back up to normal again.

Do I just need a new battery, or is the problem more complicated?
