My battery light is going on and off every time this happens the rpm's fluctuate and the car has a sudden surge. Two months ago after driving for four hours when I shut the car off I could not turn it back on. The lights did not work etc. I got a rebuilt alternator and the car started the battery light went off for a few days. The battery light had been on and off before this happened but just as it is now. Only I did not notice a surge like now when this happens. I know its not the battery and I know now its not the alternator what is this? I do not want the car to die again in the middle of the road. I believe this is an electrical issue but have no idea what.

Has the battery been disconnect at all ever since the issue started?

Just for giggles, insure the battery is fully charged, disconnect Mr. Battery (negative side)

Wait ten minutes then hook it back up.

This might reset a computer. Which may still be sensing low voltage input.

If I am wrong, Nothing got hurt!

Return with good news!
