It was raining intensely, and I drove twenty minutes to get to my work place. But, while turning into the parking lot the battery light came on when I turned the steering wheel all the way to the right and my steering went stiff. When I rolled to a parking space and straightened the wheel, the light went away and things were "normal".

I have a new alternator, air compressor, water pump, and the belt is in the middle of its life.

The clue is the rain. Water splashed up onto the pulleys causing the serpentine belt to slip. All you can do is wait a few seconds for that water to clear off. The pulleys do not have to be dry. It is the water overload that caused the intermittent problem. There is nothing to fix unless there is a missing splash shield.
