How do I get the door panel off to change the window regulator? Are there special tools? I am mechanically inclined, an electrician and I think I can do this repair. Thanks Bob Doss

FIrst you have to pull the door panel off and clean out any broken glass. The you will have to take all the rivets out of the regulator in order to be able to maneuver the regulator to line up with channel of the glass. THis video shows the job being done on a similar car, it shows the steps.

I had driver door window replaced by a mobile repair foreigner. Ever since the battery acts like its drained. Could the power window have anything to do with my drained battery?

Good morning,

Maybe but needs to be confirmed.

What you need to do is to remove the negative battery cable and put a voltmeter in line. Red lead on the cable and black lead on the battery post. Set the meter to DC amps.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-wiring

You should have no more than 50-75 milliamps. If you have more than that, remove the fuses one by one until the reading drops to within specs. Then let me know what fuse is the issue and I can get you the components it powers.

Recently my rear power window was smashed out. When I replace the glass, do I have to drill the factory rivets out of the motor bracket to replace the glass?

Hi:
If the motor was damaged, yes. Drill out the rivits and replace them with nuts and bolts. If it wasn't damaged, you should be able to replace the glass without removing it.

Driver side window does not go down. All other windows work. Is there a motor for each window? What could be the cause of failure?

Is there a lock-out at the master switch? If the lock-out is set, the other window switches may not work? Also use a voltage tester at the power window circuit breaker, should be hot/voltage with key on.

When you try to operate window, is circuit breaker hot to the touch? If it trips, none of the windows will work.

Ive had mechanics where I work look at it. The master switch on the drivers side has door locks and mirrors on it. Those work fine. There is no power going to the window part of the switch.

You need to check the wiring circuits yourself. Caradiodoc is correct, sometimes those wires do break. Hinge side of door.

2000 blazer driver window only works sometimes. Is there a quick fix without replacing the motor? It still makes a sound like there is power going to the motor

Is the power window circuit breaker getting hot, when the problem occurs, feel of it? If the circuit breaker trips, none of the windows will work, at that moment. Just a thought.
